Today I saw a car trying to ride along a train track. Today's message is not about us going on a track that God doesn't want anyone to travel which leads to destruction but, rather, is about us misguidedly going on someone else's track or feeling jealous that others are on seemingly a better track than us. We need to trust that God created us in perfect love and has perfect purposes for us. In Jesus's story of the prodigal son, the youngest of 2 brothers would rather turn from his father and spend all his inheritance on a debauched lifestyle. He was certainly on the track to destruction. He repented and returned to his father who celebrated his return. The older brother was jealous of the younger son having a big celebration thrown for him and failed to rejoice in his brother's repentance whereby he would no longer be heading towards destruction, and was not grateful for his own place in his father's heart and in what His father had in store for him (Luke 15). Let us trust God's path for us.
