Today I saw a picture of a crossroads, an intersection with 4 choices. Jesus came to tell us to choose the way to God. God spoke through prophet Jeremiah (6:16) to say, "Stop at the crosswords and look around you. Ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it. You will find rest for your souls". That translated word "ancient" in this verse is from the original text meaning eternal, always, continuing, perpetual. In other words the ancient path of following God is not obsolete and old-fashioned but the only way and it stands forever. Two days ago we were reminded that God's Word and promises of good for us last forever. The moment we recalibrate the direction we are taking, so we are going towards God, His arms are open to receive us each time with no desire to scold and punish us but to lovingly welcome us.
