Today I saw a simple daisy with its cheerful white petals and bright yellow centre. It symbolises innocence and purity across various cultures and mythologies. The name 'daisy' comes from the Old English "day's eye" because its petals close at night and open to the sun, so they represent a fresh start. All too often we hang on to our past unhealthily, which hampers our progress now. Our past is not a waste. It can inform us but we need to press on. "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland". (Isaiah 43:18-19). This is God speaking to each and every one of us.
