Description

I saw a small, funny, furry, green, toylike creature running and rolling down a ski slope. He was having such fun! It has caused me to think on how children find it much easier to find reason and opportunity for laughter. I can't provide any credence for the statistic I have heard of children, under normal circumstances, being more likely to laugh 400 times a day as opposed to adults who might laugh 20 times a day. However, I would suggest that children do indeed laugh a lot more than adults. Philosophers, neuroscientists and psychologists study humour and laughter. I simply pose the question as to why adults have lost the childlike propensity for laughter? I consider that our attitudes have a lot to do with it. In the wise book of Proverbs we are told that, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones". (Proverbs 17:22). Peace and joy are promised to us by Jesus. I pray for Jesus's peace and joy for all of you reading this and that, as such, you have increased laughter in your life.
