Description

Today I saw a head dress of beautiful flowers. This imagery reminds me of Isaiah's prophetic words about 800 years before Jesus was born. The words were attributed to the forthcoming Messiah who would come to save mankind. All those centuries later, after being baptised by the Holy Spirit, Jesus repeated the same words that Isaiah had prophesied would be the words of the Messiah: (The LORD has sent me) "to bind up the brokenhearted ... to comfort all who mourn ... to bestow on them.a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair" (Isaiah 61:1, 3). All other of Isaiah's prophetic words regarding Jesus were proven right, one of which was that the Messiah would be a descendant of Jesse, the father of King David. Joseph, the surrogate earthly father of Jesus, was indeed descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1-2; Matthew 1). God's words through prophet Isaiah came to pass and, similarly, Jesus's promises of transformation can come to pass too if we can but believe.
