Description

Today, in my mind's eye, I saw a nest with orphaned baby birds resting on the ground, clearly needing their parents close by. In echoing Jesus's prayer we say, "Our Father who art in heaven". Is God our remote heavenly father? God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are as one as they are completely united. Father God came down in the form of His Son Jesus. John 1:1 tells us that in the beginning was The Word (which co-created the heavens and the earth - Genesis 1:1) and in verse 14 we read that The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. That is Jesus. When Jesus knew his time to die on the cross was near, he told his disciples that he would ask his Father to provide them with the Spirit of Truth to help them and to be with them forever. (See John 14:16). "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you" (John 14:18).
