As well as a pause symbol, with the two short vertical lines, I saw a faded chain link in the foreground reminding us that it may seem that God is taking a break in our lives, but in fact everything that happens to us is connected. God's love for us is never on pause. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23). Note that Jeremiah, the prophet who wrote these verses, first of all tells us about God and then addresses Him personally. We can, similarly, talk about God's faithfulness but also go that extra step of going to Him personally.
