Today I saw a pick axe being used to try and smash through hard slabs of ice. It was a tough job. Then a heater was used which easily melted the solid ice. This is a good reminder that it is not our responsibility and our efforts which will change a person who needs changing, but prayer. We can ask the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf and to actually give us the desire to pray for particular people. There may be some people who we really aren't keen on praying for and we need God's love for them. None of us are perfect and we might be an irritant or worse to someone else. If we are changing for the better and drawing closer to God someone who loves us has prayed for us and maybe is still doing so. Romans 8:26 tells us that "the Spirit helps us in our weakness for we do use not know what to pray for, as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." Let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us pray for others who need their hard hearts changed.
