Description

Today I was reminded of the importance of 3 in the sense of God, us (representing one) and others (also representing one). Last Friday's Daily Picture devotional mentioned the threefold cord which cannot be "quickly broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12) and I had a wonderful incident yesterday which reminded me of this truth. I am a Montessori teacher (and English as an Additional Language teacher). I very recently heard of a technique to help young children visually understand the blending of letters of the alphabet to form words. This was on a website for helping dyslexic children, which the founder has generously given much of her time and expertise to develop. The technique she recommends involves the use of a length of wool (yarn) which graduates from one colour to another and on to a third colour. I saw a child of about 11 years old knitting inh the playground with just such wool. She had one last piece which was too short for knitting but just what I needed and she was so happy to give it to me. I applied my newly learnt technique to one of my struggling readers and I had great success. I can so see God's hand over the whole situation and the resultant fruit of success. We all worked together under God's provision and guidance, even if unwittingly. He is the One to be thanked and glorified. "Let the one who boasts, boasts in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:13b).
