Today I saw an abundance of grass and we know that in the right conditions grass keeps growing however often it is cut back. It has persistent roots and yet in the Bible we are reminded that grass eventually withers and dies, in contrast with God's Word. God's Words, His promises last forever. Isaiah 40:8 tells us "The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever". This is echoed in 1 Peter 1:24-25. Psalm 23 describes us lying down in green pastures, with wonderful descriptions of the benefits of His eternal kingdom. ⁰⁰The psalm ends, "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." (Psalm 23:6).
