Today I saw an anchor, reminding me that our hope is anchored in faith in God, as opposed to comprising of fantasy and wishful thinking. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" _yet_ (Hebrews 11:1) and "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul ..."(Hebrews 6:19). "Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5). In other words, we need the Holy Spirit to strengthen our trust and faith in God. We can't develop our faith and hope by ourselves. For this new year may "the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit".
