Today I "saw" an ancient pyramid withstanding the test of time and a simple sandcastle disappearing with a rising tide. This serves as a good reminder of Jesus's words encouraging us to build our lives on the foundation of His words, analogous to a house built on rocks. In comparison a house built on shifting sands will easily be washed away. (Matthew 7:24-27). The preceding verses in Matthew 7 as well as in the earlier chapters of 5, 6 are packed with Jesus's discourse on how to live our lives - on how to: be blessed, be salt and light to others around us, obey God 's Laws, love even our enemies, give to the needy, pray, fast, store up the right treasures, not worry, not be judgemental, receive from Him and to be discerning of all that is trying to impact and influence us. Phew! There is so much Jesus wants to guide us on to provide us with strength and comfort throughout our lives to face inevitable discords and barrages.
