In Psalm 42 King David gives himself a good talking to, when things are difficult for him and he feels downcast, reminding himself that God is always with Him, has always helped Him and to reach out to Him. "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, the living God" (Psalm 42:1-2b).
