Description

I woke up very early this morning and envisaged me throwing a fishing line into some water with nothing on the end, but then on hooking up a worm. I felt the sense that we have to be careful as to what bait we hook on to. We all have our own risky bait that if we start being hooked up to it, could draw us deeper into something that isn't good for us and also may extend badly in the way we treat others. You could sort of say that my bait this morning was to try to sleep on a little longer after I had started praying. I ended up staying asleep for another 2 1/2 hours! Today that was okay but another time I could have missed an appointment etc. Let us stay hooked to God as depicted by the description of the Tabernacle in the Old Testament. The Tabernacle was the portable sanctuary of God where the people of Israel worshipped when they were travelling in the desert from bondage in Egypt to the Promised Land. Not only is God among us but He resides in us, through His Holy Spirit, when we invite Him in to our lives. Exodus 26:6 cites one of God's instructions to "Make 50 gold hooks. Use them to join the curtains together so that the Holy tent is all in one piece" (New International Reader's Version). Maybe there is a lot more significance in that instruction than I am aware of now but let us unite in our worship, giving due worth to God.
