I have started this week seeing a series of road signs such as those indicating directions of left and right, speed limits etc. We all know the necessity of boundaries. God has given us boundaries purely for our good. Some we understand and are willing to obey such as not murdering, some we are willing to obey but can't always succeed in, such as being truthful at all times, but there are maybe some we don't understand or simply don't want to obey, such as forgiveness. "Then Peter came up and said to him, 'Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times'." (Matthew 17:21-22). If seven signifies completeness then multiples of seven totally emphasises the need to completely forgive. Do you think it is wise to pick and choose what boundaries of God we think are good for us to follow or not?
