Description

Today I have been reflecting on the times we choose to close our eyes to God's spiritual truths. For instance we are told to "Rejoice in the Lord always .."(Philippians 4:4) but we can completely and actively turn away from that truth and retort that what we are going through wholly justifies our complaining. I can sometimes recognise blindness in others but do I realise that I choose to be blind over some matters too? In Revelation 2 and 3, we read an account of Jesus speaking to the individual angels of 7 churches, to one of which He says, "You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.'. But you do not realise that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked..." (Revelation 3:17). That could be us He is speaking to but here is some great news as echoed in Apostle Paul's prayer, "Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light in the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance". (Ephesians 1:18).
