Today I saw crystal glass which brings to mind the awesome description of God's Kingdom that He showed John in a vision, as recounted in the Book of Revelations, where God wants us to reside with Him forever. "It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal...The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone... The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass". (Revelations 21:11, 18-19a, 21). So, when God asks us to lay our treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:20) He is not asking us to consider beautiful material things of no importance; He wants us to have the right attitude towards anything of beauty provided by Him such as a baby's beautiful smile, artistic talents etc, as well as precious jewels. It is not about boasting of our possessions but about glorifying God for His provision and blessing others.
