Today I saw, in my mind's eye, a pair of half finger knitted gloves. This drew me to thinking on God's completely open hand towards us. His is often referred to in the Bible as the hand that created us, and as such He wants to fully protect us and provide for us. Prophet Isaiah (64:8) declares, "But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand". Whilst a man on earth, Jesus said, " I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand". (John 10:28). Perish is to have no extended life. Think on that perspective. God says to us, "For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and say to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you' " (Isaiah 41:13). The sense and hope of us being protected and provided for comes from a base of believing that God created us in the first place.
