Description

I further reflect on yesterday's message which stated that Jesus saves us from our sin before we even recognise our sins and repent of them. Well, that must anger some people for any number of reasons such as feeling no need for being saved, belief in other ways of being saved, dismissal of any life after death etc. If we do believe, our understanding of how we receive salvation through Jesus is personal and deep, and need not follow others' ways. King David believed He was saved. That was in Old Testament times before Jesus had come to earth in human form. God saw David as a man after His heart (1 Samuel 13:14). The human heritage of Jesus is detailed as from Joseph, a descendant of King David and further back to Abraham (Matthew 1). King David was saved through Jesus but not in a prescribed way that we would necessarily understand. In the Gospel of John 14 we read Jesus's declarations that He is the way to God and that He gives us His Holy Spirit to guide us. It is worth not completely dismissing this amazing invitation within the quietness of your own heart and discovering for yourself what it is to follow Jesus's way to God.
