For the purposes of today's Devotional I saw a rabbit immobilised by the headlights of a car at night. This has made me ponder on the two opposing stances on how we lead our life. One is completely material-related in that when we draw our final breath it is believed that that is the end of us. The other is related to both material and spiritual. However, some people stand rooted in indecision. In the Gospel of John Chapter 1 Jesus is referred to as the Word and the Light, as spiritual concepts, but He came down to earth in the flesh, (that is, as man) and taught about His spiritual kingdom. He told His disciples that with His departure from this earth He could connect us to His spiritual kingdom through His Holy Spirit. I believe that the image of the rabbit in the headlights depicts those who are not making a decision one way or another - to believe solely in us being material or that we are material and spiritual. Wavering in the middle does not help us. We need to live our lives in one context or another. We each have our own race to run but I challenge you to trust Jesus and His teachings.
