This is a continuation of yesterday's message. After feeling so fearful of being killed by Jezebel and believing her threats, Elijah stood in God's presence with humility and respect but was thinking that he had had an ineffectual ministry as God's servant prophet (mouthpiece) to Israel. God explained that Elijah was to have a successor, Elishah. God also assured Elijah that His ministry had been effective and there were 7,000 believers in Him, scattered over Israel. That is a good reminder to stand humbly in front of God, knowing that we are weak without Him, but to also know that He will be effective through us. In fact, even if one person enters God's Kingdom through our ministry, that one person is highly important to God and that that is one more person who has eternal life. To Him be the glory for that!
