Today's is a split message as my car broke down on the way home yesterday evening. Part of the message is me explaining my predicament but declaring God's goodness and the second half is me explaining what happened with the roadside assistance company I use. They said they would come to me within 4 1/2 to 7 1/2 hours! God does not promise us that all will be smooth for us in life but He does promise us that He will be with us through everything. I prayed a lot during what ended up being a 4 hour wait and I received a couple of timely phone calls. I actually had all I needed - some water, a phone charger and even a private toilet hedge! My car had completely konked out because an engine wire had worked loose. God really does protect us. I had pulled over to a safe lay by and turned off my engine to send a text and then found it had "died". If my engine had cut out on the fast lane I had been travelling on just before I pulled over, I so easily could have been involved in an accident. I also thank God that it hadn't happened during the day as one of my sons surprised me with a totally unexpected return from South America and I had needed my car. There are many bible verses which declare God's goodness. Here is one: "For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.". If we expect our lives to be easy, we will be disappointed but don't take it out on God, because there are other powers in this world. God is more powerful and wants to be there for us always. However, in love, He has given us the choice to receive Him or not.
