I feel that today's Devotional is a sequel to yesterday's regarding God getting our attention through our pain which, note, He does not give us in the first place. God can turn any situation round for good. It is more difficult for God to get our attention when all is going well for us and we seemingly don't need Him. He has so much more to offer us than we can provide for ourselves - an abundant life here on earth (the understanding of what that really means requires time devoted to getting to know Him) and eternal life. Apostle Paul recognised his need to be reminded of his need for God and thus not 'conceitedly' living a life without God. He says, as recorded in 2 Corinthians 12:9 the Lord "said to me 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me".
