Description

Young shepherd boy David, before he became King, faced the giant Goliath with his sling and pebbles which he was practised in using when facing the enemies of the sheep he cared for. Goliath had challenged the army of Israel to have one individual face him in battle. Everyone was fearful until David arrived simply to bring provisions from his father to his brothers who were in the army. He had no fear as he proclaimed he had the power of God with him. He did indeed defeat Goliath with a deadly sling shot to his temple. Not only had David faced the physical might of Goliath but he also faced his scornful and aggressive taunting as well as scorn from one of his brothers who accused him of negligence of the sheep and conceit. We can expect victory if we declare our partnership with God when we face our enemies which is often in the form of misunderstanding and false accusations. David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty' ...". (1 Samuel 17:45)
