Today, I woke up to the word "Superlative" - of the highest quality or degree. This, I feel, is linked to yesterday's message of Abel's offering to God of His first born sheep, indicative of wanting to give his best. Conversely, his brother Cain wasn't happy to even listen to God. Jude says of the Israelites who were saved from bondage in Egypt by God and who turned instead to Balaam, "Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error;". (Jude 1:11) God asks of us for some of our our time and resources which He has given us in the first place. He has yet more to give us - superlatively, lavishly, abundantly. Our attitude towards giving to God is indicative of our view of God. Do we give at all, begrudgingly, to a small degree or superlatively?
