The book of Revelation, the last book in the bible, is Jesus Christ unveiling Himself to the Apostle John, revealing the antichrist, God's judgement and calamity on earth and restoration of mankind to God. "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near." (Revelations 1:3). "Near" in the original ancient Greek is more along the line of 'suddenly come to pass'. The suggestion then is to familiarise ourselves with the Book of Revelation because all that it reveals will happen very quickly and we won't have time to study it then. We will be blessed as we will recognise it for what it is when it all happens very quickly. For now, I am pointing out Revelation 1:5 which tells us that Jesus was the first born from the dead. In other words He was the first to be resurrected from the dead. Verse 7 tells us that He will come back to earth with the clouds and in Verse 17 Jesus told John, and onto us as the readers, "I am the living one and I was dead and now look, I am alive forever and I hold the keys of death and Hades". I for one want to be ready when He comes back to claim His followers.
