Description

Today we have a sequel to yesterday's message which was that the Holy Spirit always helps us to remember God's Words in order to help, guide, encourage and comfort us, as needed. Similarly, a compass magnetic needle always points to the North. What a great reminder for us to always face upwards towards God. In Ephesians 6, we are advised to wear the armour of God, taking up "the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one" (Ephesians 6:16). These arrows represent negative words hurled at another. Any of us could be guilty of issuing non God-like words to others. Jesus declared that "what goes into someone's mouth does not defile them but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them" (Matthew 15:11). Let's focus on saying words of Truth, appropriately timed with love and encouragement. If non-God words come our way, let us deflect them and pray for the issuer who is actually the victim of their own negative words.
