Today continues with the bed imagery we have had for the past 2 days - first we had just the uncomfortable bed frame, indicating an inadequate, uncomfortable or even painful view of God making us feel that we had better not have Him in our life at all; then we had a comfortable cushiony mattress and warm cosy coverings imagery, whereby we recognise the loving provision and comfort of God. Today we have some bountiful extras. Yes, God loves to give to us abundantly as Jesus expressly and concisely tells His disciples: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). It makes sense to not always have the extras as then we forget to be grateful for them. However, God keeps His promises of wanting to bless us beyond our imagination. Expect to receive from Him by repeatedly declaring that. (See Ephesians 3:20 and James 1:17).
