Today I saw the historic monument of The Space Needle in Seattle. It required great vision and endeavour in order to construct it in just under one year, 1962, and has achieved historic prominence in a relatively short space of time and it gives delight to millions of people with its observation deck 160m/520 ft above ground which can be accessed by lift/elevator in 41 seconds. Extremely sadly, it has also been a site for 3 suicides. This picture serves to highlight 2 extremes of human height and depth. Most of us are positioned in between those 2 points, with some worthwhile achievements and some times of despair. In order to achieve a good balance, Jesus instructs us to seek first the Kingdom of God, to trust God and to not worry (Matthew 6:25-34). Jesus ends this discourse on worry with the words: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own". As well as not worrying about the future, it is a tall order to not even worry about today but we can achieve that with Jesus by our side.
