Description

"Who is my neighbor?" Isn't this the age old question? Particularly now, when our neighbors might include our co-workers, social media buddies, friends from former cities, people who share our faith tradition, as well as people who don't, and of course, those who live on our street. That's a lot of people to share connections with so how do we practice neighborliness in 2019? How do we avoid the constant clapback on social media and the temptation to grow callous in a perpetually needy world? Well, that's easy, we just need to take a little encouragement from the Fred Rogers Playbook. Learning to see all people with dignity and compassion, speaking truth to injustice and rudeness, living with the kind of consideration that sincerely commands us, and others, to do better is what Fred did so well for so long. Friend, we MUST DO BETTER both online and in person, to exemplify the grace and goodness we want to see in this world. If we all do our part, we'll change the question from "Who is my neighbor?" to "Won't you be my neighbor?" (We heart you Mr. Rogers.)
