Can you imagine being asked to submit to a completely irrational request, a rule that violated your humanity, a policy that made your superior at the expense of someone else? Of course you can... because we've all been coerced or forced into becoming less of who, or what, we were created to become. There are times when civil disobedience (what living legend John Lewis calls, "good trouble") is required to disrupt the current order, structure, or even law, and help others understand that we are all created with inherent value and dignity, and must be treated accordingly. Journey with us as we talk about why peaceful protest is not rebellion, why we need to get over our superiority, and how the decision of a 15-year-old girl in Montgomery, Alabama to not give up her seat on a bus, though she was terrified, and jailed in an adult penitentiary, paved the way for 42-year-old, Rosa Parks to do the same and to become one of the key faces of the Civil Rights movement. Women are powerful, and strong, and when we resist the right things, and take action toward equality, change is possible. Our collective effort, no matter how small it feels as an individual, is making a difference.
