Forgiveness is one of our favorite F-words. Forgiveness leads to wholeness and that is what makes it so powerful. We're fragmented when we choose to remain stuck in our hurts and wounds. We become suspicious of others, and we struggle to move forward in health and strength in the big offenses. Especially in our closest relationships. We make vows that hinder our purpose, and lead to greater isolation and loneliness (I will never let this type of person hurt me again; I will never commit to intimacy again; I will never risk my heart in relationship again because I fear rejection or abandonment; I will always hate myself for what I've done, or what has been done to me; etc, etc.). It can be hard to be honest and to enjoy ourselves and others, but forgiveness can unlock freedom and breed trust and safety in relationships. Can you imagine if the Christian witness was a big fat I'M SORRY, instead of the prideful, I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG, that we see so often in the media? We think more people would see the great love and companionship God intended for us to experience. In this episode, learn to let go, and understand the power of forgiveness.
