Business Insider reported that women earn 80.7 cents for every dollar that her male counterpart earns. Statistics also show that college educated females now outnumber males in the work force, but are still not fairly compensated. Tiffany and Ashley have firsthand experience with this, and this is an important dialogue for us to have. We want to see women advance, not at the expense of men, but because equal pay for equal work should be our baseline. Recently, Luna Bar, having fallen in love with the US Women's Soccer Team, like the rest of us, decided to close a pay gap. For their team bonuses, the USWNT was short a little more than 31,000 per person, and Luna Bar gifted that amount to every single player on the Women's Team! So basically, we shall be eating the Luna bars until Jesus comes home, to show our full support of this female empowering company! From negotiating pay, to bonuses, to work load versus wages, women often get the short end of the stick. There's hope for change, and we can see it over the decades, through the voices of women and men who want to continue to close the pay gap.
