Episode 4 - Didi
Welcome to Episode 4 of The Shuffle Curious Podcast, featuring Didi Garza! Didi very much harped on her love for music and how it has been her driving passion throughout her life, her DJ endeavors, and her shuffle journey. She came across the dance by accident, but quickly realized she wanted to pursue this type of movement. She learned what felt right for her body and developed a style of movement that was natural to her.
Didi talked about how her experiences at festivals such as Electric Forest and Electric Zoo inspired her to make many different life changes, such as moving to Denver. She shared how she went through dark times and uncertainty before finding shuffling, and that the dance opened up many doors for her.
She went on to create the collective, MHS (Mile High Shufflers), shortly after arriving in Denver. Didi describes MHS meetups as a time and place where people come together to be a part of a family, to play, to connect, and to be silly:) She talks about how much MHS has grown over time, with the addition of DJ participants, more shufflers, and different events, which have strengthened the local shuffle community. Didi emphasizes that MHS' culture is based on relationships, with dance being secondary to people. She shares how MHS has a welcoming and inclusive nature, and how the community sustains and continues to grow through the love and support for one another.

Since her breakthrough into the scene, Didi (DEEDZ) has embarked on a personal journey to redefine the standard of dance music through event curation, djing, and of course shuffling. Seeking to break barriers, she prides her work in bridging the gap between the commercial and underground world of dance music. After almost 10 years of raving, she's now dedicated in creating an imprint on the scene she so very much loves.
