My next Choosing Happiness podcast guest is best known as one-third of
the R&B singing group 'Sisters with Voices'. Better known as SWV,
this dynamic trio went on to sell more than 30 million albums, making
them one of the best selling girl groups of all time. She also competed
on the eighteenth season of CBS's Survivor.
Meet Tamara Antrice Johnson-George, an American singer, song writer,
rapper, model and author. Born in Brooklyn, the youngest of 6, her world
changed dramatically at age 9 when her father died of pancreatic
cancer, and then she lost her mother age 14.
This caused Taj and her siblings to be parceled amongst several
relatives, where she eventually graduated from high school and attended
Baruch College to study accounting. She soon discovered that college
wasn't for her, and that's when she was asked to audition for the all
the all girl group, 'Sisters with Voices', and the rest is history.
