Today I am speaking about how being more self aware will help you to stop band-aiding yourself when things feel hard.
I know my red flags when something else is really going on however that sneaky bitch in my head gets me sometimes.
She says things like;
"Oh it's okay if you have all that you know how to get back on track," for the 5th donut..
"Watch one more episode this show is so good and it makes me feel happy," moving into the 3rd season at midnight..
She sounds nice, but does that sound like someone who is looking out for my best interests, HELL NO!
She's the one that wants to put a band-aid on an open, needs stitches, wound or broken bone. She would rather cover it up and ignore it with too much of something then leaning in and witnessing the issue.
The truth, when you acknowledge the "problem" most of the time it will be released. Until you look it straight in the eye, which by the way she's terrified to do, she'll keep telling you to watch just one more episode.
