Description

Every leader alive does it at some point in their career . . . and some of us do it daily. We begin measuring our success by the way others define theirs.  This unconscious comparison causes us to look at someone else and think “I’ll never be able to do that as well as them.” We may feel this way while watching a cooking show, listening to a concert, or with how we lead others. How we define leadership success is often built on how we see others lead.

Sometimes this mindset can inspire you, but oftentimes, it inhibits you from beginning your journey to where you want to go because you’ve defined success based on someone else. You have developed a rule book that instead of offering grace and opportunities to grow on your journey, demands black-and-white rules that evoke a fear of failure and stops us from reaching our own potential.

Is there something new you want to try – a destination you want to reach? We hope you’ll listen to today’s podcast as we talk about how important it is to give yourself permission to be a beginner at something (like us with this podcast!). The path may be bumpy, but the reward is fantastic.
