Description

Happy Holidays! It is the week between Christmas and New Year's, and that means we don't know what day it is, we're not sure where we're supposed to be, and we're full of sugar and cheese. Instead of a new episode this week, we're doing something a little bit different.

We're going to replay one of our favorite episodes from 2023 called Braving Boundaries. It's one of our favorite episodes and we hope you enjoy it!

We don’t really know how to set healthy boundaries in our culture and it shows. It can be even more difficult to set healthy boundaries at work in an effective way because of the team and power dynamics involved.  And even if you do set a healthy boundary, what happens if the other person doesn’t honor it?

While your reactive response might be to build a wall, if you care for the person and your relationship, a more caring approach is to build boundaries. In our podcast, we’ll talk about how walls are reactive and fear-based, but boundaries are proactive and security-based, allowing you to take care of yourself while leaving a healthy space for others.

As a leader, modeling health boundaries not only protects you, it protects your relationships with your team members and allows them to learn how to have healthy boundaries as well. An environment that doesn’t allow for healthy boundaries can and will burnout its high performers. Instead, consider how you can create an environment of respect and care that allows everyone to flourish without sacrificing their true selves.

Join us this week as we talk about how to tear down those walls while building healthy boundaries.

At the Grounding and Growing Leadership podcast, we believe that everyone is a leader and leadership starts with you.
