When Evan Barnett began his career in the waterpark industry at age 16, he was 100% focused on attention to detail, dedication, and hard work every single day -- as he was cleaning toilets as part of the park services team. 24 years later, Barnett says it was that very first job that really laid the foundation for the rest of his career in the waterpark industry. Today he’s the President of the Pyek Group -- which owns and operates four different waterparks: two in Texas and two more in the Las Vegas area. He’s also been heavily involved with the World Waterpark Association over the years and has frequently been a featured speaker at their annual conference and symposium. But even though he now oversees thousands of employees at parks that have millions of attendees annually, he still believes that it was his humble beginning at that very first waterpark that provided the mindset and work ethic he needed to become one of the most well-respected leaders in the industry.
