Early in his career as a high school coach, Terry Pirtle made the decision he was going to focus on being transformational with his teams -- as opposed to transactional. And over the 35 years that he’s been involved with high school athletics, the value in that approach has been on full display: As a head baseball coach his teams won three state championships, and in football teams he led as head coach played in four state championship games -- winning one of them. Pirtle is now the Athletic Director at Houston Christian School -- one of the most successful private school athletic departments in Texas history.
