A man gifts a log of wood to his wife, and she sings lullabies to it and takes care of it as of a child. The log of wood transforms magically into a little boy, Pilipka, who grows up to be brave and adventurous. He comes to love fishing so much so that he spends all his days fishing and netting a good catch.
