Karen Harmon is the General Manager and COO of the Sarasota Yacht Club. Her responsibility is extensive, overseeing the operations of an award-winning culinary team, a 110 slip marina, a fitness center, pool, many watersports offerings including youth sailing, a private event venue and of course a private social club. The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association recently awarded the Sarasota Yacht Club with a Seal of Commitment, FRLA's highest designation for hospitality safety and sanitation standards. The Seal of Commitment is a promise that your restaurant or hotel meets safety and sanitation standards as designated by FRLA. Awarded establishments have invested resources to ensure that the location, staff, and guests remain safe and healthy. In this conversation, Karen shares the practices that have been put in place to ensure good health and safety for members, staff and guests as well as some general discussion about the club and her personal and professional background.
