Michael ‘Mocky’ Sheil left Clongowes in 1956 to enter the Jesuits and returned in future years to fulfil nearly every role in the school throughout the years other than Headmaster. He still remains thee today steadfast and strong. Michael has always seen his role in schools as pastoral, as an expression of his priesthood, and he has been tireless in serving those committed, in one capacity or another, to his care. This has been reflected in all the schools where he has worked, and most especially in Clongowes; in his faithful ministry every summer in France; in his work for the Children’s Trust Pilgrimage in Lourdes; and in so many other ways and so many other places.
In these 3 podcasts ‘Mocky’ answers the 4 questions, and shared a lot more, given his lengthy links and multiple roles in CWC. Recorded in the Castle Libray which proved a very unique and privileged occasion where unusually, he sat still and generously shared his recollections.
