Patrick Coveney joined SSP Group plc in March 2022 as Group CEO. His focus on colleagues, customers, culture and performance alongside his proven ability to quickly develop strong relationships make him well placed to lead SSP to future success.Patrick is a strategic, people focused leader with extensive food industry knowledge having previouslyspent 14 years as CEO at Greencore Group plc, a leading international convenience food producer. He has also held non-executive director positions at various food and consumer companies. Through his career, Patrick has demonstrated a strong track record of building teams, deepening client relationships, and delivering growth whilst embedding sustainability.He also currently serves as a non-executive director at Olam Food Ingredients (“OFI”) Group Limited.Patrick was appointed Group CEO of Greencore Group plc in 2008, having originally joined in 2005 as Group CFO. Patrick has also served as a non-executive director at Glanbia plc, Chair of Core Media Group and President of Grocers and Food Industry (“IGD”)
Between 1996 & 2005 he worked at McKinsey & Company in Europe and North America, latterly as Managing Partner for Ireland.Patrick holds a DPhil and MPhil in Management Studies from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class) from University College Cork, where he was overall Graduate of the Year in 1992.
Patrick is married to Emma and has four children and lives in London & Dublin. Patrick Coveney left Clongowes in 1988.
