10 years ago, a simple social experiment started on the streaming channel Twitch created by a freelance Australian computer programmer.
The premise: Play through and complete Pokemon Red.
How? By allowing followers on the Twitch stream to enter commands (A, B, Direction, Start) for the protagonist to follow. Sounds easy, right? It was anything but. Over 1.1 million viewers tuned in over an 18-day period with over 80,000 people live during its peak. Every one of these viewers had the ability to input actions. Inevitably, Chaos ensued.
10 years later, we've decided to reissue the Reddit recap of this playthrough of one of the coolest mass gaming experiences of all time in a mini audio book.
