Welcome to another edition of 'Freeplay Fortnightly' where we both pick a video game that we want to play and keep it secret from our co-host. We then review said game on the podcast and ask our co-host to score the game out of 10 based on our review. Simple? You bet we are!
In March, we walked through GQ's Best 100 Video Games and Fazz was appalled to learn how few had played. He's already taken care of a couple of candidates this year and decided it was time to take on a very popular game he, somehow, knows extremely little about, 2K's Bioshock (2007, Xbox 360). Like... literally... absolutely nothing...
• Why is it called 'Bioshock'?
• Will Big Daddy give him a big hug?
• Why are you making me get inside this Bathysphere?!?
Rich has also barrelled into the FPS/horror sub-genre this week with a playthrough of Trepang² (2023, PC). You know when a games studio names a game after itself, it's gonna be an absolute belter... Probably.
• Should he have shot all of those weird cultists in Goole?
• When will the story hang together? Does it ever?
• Why can't Fazz read the room and score Rich's freeplay better?!?
We cap things off with a swift chat about mute protagonists: Yay or nay? Silent nod or shake of the fist?!
Enjoy the pod.
