Have you ever heard of the term black English? If you haven’t you are not alone black british is the commonly used term, however why is this the case. TheNineToFivers explore why this is and what it actually is actually means to be English. Are English flags a symbol of bigotry and hatred or just simply displays of patriotism. So often black brits have struggled with their actual identity until they realise they are a unique blend of cultures that contribute to the UK as we know it. The problem has been far worse however for Black Americans whose culture was stripped from them completely. This is perhaps why despite opening the realms of possibility for black people around the globe, black Panther particularly gripped so many African - American hearts. It was a chance for a reconnection to the motherland, a futuristic imagination of what Africa could be had things turned out differently. It was because of this that Chadwick Boseman’s tragic and sudden death resonated sharply with many of us. He diligently carried out the role of T’Challa and featured in a number of films in the lead up to his death all whilst battling colon cancer. It is interesting how some people can lead short but impactful lives whilst others can live long unfulfilled ones without purpose, but would things be different if we all received a set of instructions for life itself? Would it make everybody content? Or would it just set limits on creativity? In a time where creators are trying to break out of the limits of what is perceived as normal, Joe Budden opened dialogue potentially at his own expense that will surely benefit creatives in the long run. Will Spotify live to rue their letting their number 1 podcast go? Barcelona also seem to be in the same position with their star player of the last 15 years determined to make an exit. Is there ever a bad way to leave a job? Are their lessons to be learned from other people’s exits? There were certainly lessons to be learned about from childhood from all the cartoons and anime consumed it begs the question whether there are more concealed messages in these art forms than we realise?
