Nous saluons le retour! Akwaaba! Okaerinasai! Whilst you have been welcomed back to another week’s episode in a variety of languages, unfortunately for a large number of Brits, english is the only language they speak. Why is this the case when a large proportion of Europeans can speak their own language and are pretty fluent in English as well. Are Brits self-centred or is it a failing in the schooling systems. An encounter with a dyson hoover sparked a conversation into how heavily people rely on reviews. Is it natural to prefer something with positive reviews, high views, likes and high engagement? Do you ever consider that some reviews are fake, or do you assume the majority must be real? Switching away from companies though, what actually makes you trust a person? Is it time spent knowing a person, experiences or maybe a combination of these things and more? How important is demeanour and a person’s smile? A good smile is often considered an attractive trait but if someone was to give a compliment to you, how would you react? Why are they sometimes awkward to deal with? Do they highlight insecurities in us or is it because we don’t know the agenda behind these compliments. At what point does compliments become flattery and is it a bad thing to flatter someone? Find out about all these topics and more in another fun and engaging episode of TheNineToFivers Podcast.
