Description

It’s the first episode of the year but the it slyly still feels like 2020. Covid is still rife with no end in sight and the lockdown and tiers has got people despondent and depressed. With mental health seemingly down around the country the boys tackle health from a different angle and consider the implications of health and safety in the workplace. It is often underappreciated by employees, but employers often take it quite seriously and it had been documented to show amazing affects on both productivity and profit as well as employee satisfaction and retention. How do you breed a culture that has people competing to push each other and as a result the company higher but without any of the negatives that come from selfish and toxic desires? The balance is often hard to find, and the wrong balance does not drive the business forward in the way it is supposed to with either lacklustre productivity or employees leaving with negative feelings towards and individual or indeed the company. We often forget that some people simply do not grow up and many childish behaviours have been allowed to foster until adulthood. Perhaps that is not an entirely bad thing however with a significant amount of people feeling like their child like creativity and innovation has been suffocated and killed over the years. Is this something that happens naturally as we fall into more systems or can it be actively prevented by exercising that area like a muscle. We really are a product of our environment and children are especially impressionable but are the things they are exposed to shaping them or does every child innately have good or bad within them? Find out all this and more in an jam packed episode of TheNineToFivers Podcast.
