Every day there is a new scandal and something that was hot and fresh does not stay that way. In an ever-changing world there is only so long something stays relevant, but colourism is not one of those topics. It has been around for centuries but has only been getting the spotlight it deserves in the last 10 years. Is it so divisive to have black women share black women stories or is being half black enough? Where does privilege start and end with topics like this. It is a layered topic and one that can be debated for hours but what is also up for debate is the ethicality of posting scams to followers if you are an influencer. There has been a shocking lack of awareness in recent times by influencers and other public figures and it has led to an outcry for more care to be applied to items or services promoted. How accountable can they be held though? Surely what people do with their money is their own choice…or is it? Sometime money can introduce laziness and increased wealth can diminish the desire to be resourceful. It is often an under looked prospect, where something is gained something is often lost unless there is a conscious effort to maintain and the same can be said of relationships.
